Dear Author/Artist,

Thank you so much for writing or drawing for me!

This is a general-purpose, higher-detail list of likes and dislikes. This is focused on my likes in writing, and also contains my likes in art.

I am excited for anything you create. Likes, dislikes, etc that I include in letters, aside from my short list of DNWs, are optional. Prompts are just suggestions to help motivate or inspire you. Create whatever speaks to you and gets things working!

I put together this post to try to cover my general preferences, which I've found myself rewriting a lot for letters. It's basically a list of non-fandom-specific tags and ideas that I like or dislike, and it goes into more detail than the letters I write for exchanges. This is mostly a list of things I like! Please feel like this opens new avenues for you, rather than closing them off. Feel free to surprise me and bring in new dynamics that drive you as a creator. A lot of why I'm into exchanges is that I never quite know what I'm going to get, and the chance to be delighted by something new and interesting.

Hopefully this helps inspire you.

Thank you for writing or drawing for me :)

Dear Bite-Sized Fandoms Exchange Writer,

Thanks for writing for me - I’m really excited for this exchange for the second year! I love bite sized fandoms, and I hope you’re excited as well! I’m FireBatVillain on Ao3 and Tumblr.

Aside from my DNWs, I hope you consider the prompts and likes in this letter as you work, and that they inspire you to make something you enjoy creating and that tickles my fancy! These prompts are meant to inspire, not restrain/restrict, so feel free to go beyond these prompts and create what you like!

In addition to this letter, I also maintain a longer, general letter about likes and dislikes if that's useful for you:

https://firebatvillain.dreamwidth.org/7347.html

I am open to treats in unrequested format (fic/art/podfic etc).

Things I like in writing:

Happy stories, bittersweet stories, and stories that end with a spark of hope even if they are angry or sad. I like good communication, wordplay, honor, pointless heroism or love even if it won’t succeed. Probably one of my favorite ideas in fiction is the idea of heroism in the face of hopelessness, and love even if things seem sad.

A little mini scene or interaction, an ending or a beginning, that could be a canon-compliant off-screen scene or interaction - sounds fun! I also like AUs and alternate imaginings.

I like explicit content and smut. I am okay with darkfic. I do not mind any of the archive warnings aside from what's listed in my DNWs.

Things I like in art:

Characters hugging, cute animal companions, manifestations of magic or the supernatural, characters looking fierce holding a weapon, item, or tool. Characters floating against abstract backgrounds with aquatic or space-ey feels. I'm happy with all art media, from digital to watercolor to mixed media to others.

In terms of mood: I like moods that are cozy, happy, fierce, or exciting, but I don't like moods in art that are dismaying, horrifying, or depressing.

In terms of how to depict the characters, feel free to diverge from straightforward direct physical depiction / canonical elements if you'd like! I'm comfortable with and enjoy all levels of explicitness/maturity in fics and art.

Anyway - on to the important DNWs and prompts!

Things I don’t like / DNWs:

In fic, my DNWs are authorial monarchist apologia, vivid descriptions of needles, pregnancy, and extreme underage.

In art, my DNWs are authorial monarchist apologia, depictions of needles breaking skin, pregnancy, and extreme underage.

Regarding the monarchism thing: I’m okay with characters in a feudal or monarchist setting, and even protags who are monarchs, and even these characters triumphing as monarchs as long as the story itself isn’t apologia for monarchism. Characters who like monarchism, who think of themselves as good kings, who want to restore the throne, etc - all good by me. Rider in Fate/Zero, or Moriarty in A Study in Emerald, etc are excellent characters and enjoy works about them. I just would prefer not to read a work where the final moral of the story is that democracy is bad and we should all be ruled by a single person with absolute unchecked power, as presented by the author.

Requested Fandoms:

Request 1: A Study in Emerald - Neil Gaiman - The Limping Doctor/Sherry Vernet, The Limping Doctor & Sherry Vernet

I consider A Study in Emerald to have tremendous potential for fanworks (and it is, itself, a fanwork, as a crossover between the Cthulhu Mythos and Sherlock Holmes). I've enjoyed a lot of ASiE fics in the category of "a take on a classic story in this world" but I've also enjoyed when writers have gone their own route or tried to explore the aftermath or run-up to A Study in Emerald itself. The idea of a world haunted and ruled by the Great Old Ones, and the story of the Restorationists, fighting their power with only the tools of humanity in this dark alternate 1880s, is a lot of fun. So much is hinted at or referred to, but so little is revealed, in the original work. I'd love to see more!

What does a war in Europe mean for the Old Ones? Do they battle each other or have some kind of detente? How close are the Restorationists to getting anything serious done, in Albion or elsewhere? And when another mystery pops up, for either our Restoration hero or his loyalist foe to solve, what horrors await them?

My general letter contains my likes and dislikes, and here are some prompts to get you started:

  • I'd love to see a story that revisits a classic ACD Sherlock Holmes story, but set in this universe and with an eldritch twist. Our Restorationist heroes investigating some kind of happening relevant to the Restorationist cause, or perhaps an inversion of a classic story where they're committing some kind of crime against the state or similar, and I'm a happy camper.
  • I'd like to see a treasure hunt, a heist, or a race against time, with our heroes hunting for an eldritch treasure that could be crucial to the Restorationist cause. Maybe it's a race against royalist forces, maybe some kind of horror is going to be unleashed on some innocents and they have limited time to retrieve the item.
  • "The lamps are going out all over Europe, we shall not see them lit again in our life-time." The Star of Albion, Vol 43 No 156 was published 1 year before The Great War broke out in our world, decades after Moran wrote his piece. When war breaks out, do our heroes try to bring down the Old Ones once again, this time across a war-torn continent as horrors both eldritch and manmade are unleashed? Was the Archduke Franz Ferdinand killed by our heroic Restorationists, ready to wet their blades once more with the green blood of creatures from beyond this world?
  • I'd love to learn more about the Restorationists from the inside. The Holmes character is prone to obsession and wasting away, but he and the Watson  are close confidants in this story, men who set themselves against the (false) order of the world and sometimes may have only each other to trust. What do they do when they're not killing royals and hoodwinking Moriarty? Perhaps they have time for their romance to develop, between their cases and their travels, in the new world or in Europe.

Request-specific DNW: No fics that are remixes of The Hound of the Baskervilles - I just got a great gift that was one and now I'm Hounds of the Baskervilles-ed out!

Request 2: God I miss the days when you could show up to a stranger's farm - s4mm4n : Farmer's Boy/Narrator

Original post here: https://web.archive.org/web/20191112200115/https://s4mm4n.tumblr.com/post/186763378087/god-i-miss-the-days-when-you-could-show-up-to-a

If you offered this, I think you know what you want to write for it already, hehehe. If you want some ideas, I like things that are funny, sexy, smutty, and longing! That night, or another night, or who knows what comes next. Pining ok. Feel free to make up names for unnamed characters if you feel it would help the story.

My general letter contains my likes and dislikes, and here are some prompts to get you started:

  • What happens that night, after everyone beds down?
  • Is there a future for the narrator and the farmboy? Or is he just talking longingly of an experience he once had, and how he misses those days. Or can they be reunited?
  • Why does the narrator miss those days? What changed, is there a sad story there?

Request 3: My favorite part of the Bible - CheeseParade (YouTube Short) - Jesus Christ & Sinless Steve

I think the joke is really well executed as well, much better than. The typical John 8:1-11 joke. It has good costuming and acting at the start, it's shot well, good lighting and enunciation and voice over, good music. It takes the typical joke a step further in a few ways: it's not just the "here's a sinless guy who will in fact throw the rock" or "Jesus was referring to himself", it is a really specific guy. That guy? Sinless Steve. It then switches into WWE mode, with the townspeople cheering or panicking, commentators saying "Jesus can't believe it" etc. The cut to the terrified woman's face. Oh man. And of course: The son of God with the steel chair (using the epithet here btw is also WWE style).

So, what do I want out of this? Well, basically anything exploring this world, Sinless Steve, and Jesus Christ!

My general letter contains my likes and dislikes, and here are some prompts to get you started:

  • The fight continues! Will Sinless Steve or will Jesus Christ prevail? Can they tag people in? Are there other moves they'll bust out? The Sinless Suplex? The Prophet Piledriver?
  • Sinless Steve wants revenge! It's time to see him rile up the crowd and learn how his journey has shaped him and prepared him for another bout!
  • Face Heel Turn for Sinless Steve! Has he gone too far, become too proud (Pride is a sin, after all) and fallen to evil? Is it up to the Son of God to give him a SMACKDOWN and show him the wages of sin?

Thanks for reading this!

Hopefully this gives you some ideas. I am sure I will like whatever you create.

Thank you.

Requested Fandoms:

Request 1: Baldur's Gate 3 - Fic or Art - The Dark Urge/Enver Gortash

I love these two! Durgetash is my OTP. Or, my new OTP at least. Rotating them in my mind constantly.... they're so evil, so awful, so depraved, so willing to destroy anything, except, maybe, each other? Gortash is collected, he's brilliant, he has an evil plan and will betray everyone and tyrannically crush everyone, except for The Dark Urge, in whom he sees an equal. But he's so awful! He's not like "oh, I'm secretly a good guy for you" or anything. He's just bad and ready to be bad with Durge. And The Dark Urge! That letter, before he lost his memory. "Forgive me, Father..." forgive him... for loving Gortash back! Even though he wants to turn the world into a slaughterhouse, with Gortash, things are different! Woudl he defy his father, a god, for Gortash? Would he descend into the revelry of killing to hide his feelings? Oh yes, anything is possible. As for depictions of Durge, I've often enjoyed fanart and fics in which he is the "semi-canonical" White Dragonborn, but whatever custom Durge you imagine is also fine (I know he is often a Drow in fics and playthroughs).

What I love is for The Dark Urge and Enver Gortash to be willing to set aside everything for each other, to rule for each other, to even defy their gods for each other. All of course while being as evil as you please.

Here's a few prompts if you're looking for something to inspire you.

Art Prompts:
  • Gortash holding The Dark Urge's chin with his semi-gauntleted hand, pulling his face in close, faces in profile. Mood: Intense.
  • Gortash lying back, reclined and half-naked or naked on a recliner, bench, sofa, or similar, head thrown back in relaxed pleasure as The Dark Urge pleasures him. Mood: Very sexy.
  • The Dark Urge holding a knife to Gortash's throat, leaning over him and smiling seductively. Maybe dripping blood? Mood: Alluring.
  • The couple leaning together in a moment of relaxation, framed by a heart of evil-looking flame or some other magical effect. Mood: Cute. But also maybe evil?
  • The Dark Urge and Gortash talking to each other. Speech bubble from Gortash with a tadpole or a gear or something serious, thought bubble from Durge with a knife or something violent. Mood: Silly.
Fic Prompts:
  • The Dark Urge and Enver Gortash do a heist together. They're HEIST buddies. Something focused on the POV of one of them as they begin to realize they love the other and have to change their plans to betray/murder the other. And then they FUCK.
  • At the culmination of their plan, when they have all the power and everything has succeeded, Durge and Gortash have to reckon with their love for each other. Maybe they fuck?
  • Post-canon, Gortash is alive, and The Dark Urge is getting his memories back, and realizes his love.
  • During Act 1 and 2, The Dark Urge finds himself afflicted with strange, sexy dreams of a lover he can't remember (it's Enver Gortash!)
  • Pre-canon, they meet for the first time, or maybe they are young kids on the streets, rogues in the underworld coming into their abilities?

Request 2: Warhammer 40k - Art : Asurmen/Jain Zar

Omg, where do I start with these two. I'm a big fan of Jain Zar and her interactions with Asurmen, ever since reading Jain Zar: The Storm of Silence. They found each other in the wake of the Fall, and built a new future for the Aeldari together. And through many lives, they've fought by each other's side (when not alone) since. They're fated to be together, maybe, in life or in death, in this life or the next! Whether it's during the Fall, as the two of them and the remnants of the Aeldari civilization strive to create a new, better way, or during current times, as crises befall Aeldari and the Phoenix lords live again and again to fight for the future, or meet their doom in the Rhana Dandra, these two have their fates intertwined. Will they meet next on the battlefield, or of it? If you offered this, I'm sure you have some ideas, but here are a few art prompts I have in mind to inspire you. In terms of appearance, I have a preference for the old-school style of Jain Zar with the black/gray/white coloring with red accents, rather than the current one with red hair.

Art Prompts:
  • Jain Zar and Asurmen, masks off, embracing, against a field of stars. Mood: Romantic, cuddly.
  • Jain Zar and Asurmen testing their blades against each other in a practice spar. Mood: Friendly, competitive.
  • Jain Zar and Asurmen reading books while sunbathing on the beach (or under a parasol) It's vacation time!. Mood: Relaxed.
  • Jain Zar and Asurmen in combat armor, back to back, as darkness, shadows, or threatening shapes swirls around them. Mood: Tense.
  • Jain Zar with her banshee mask off, looking concerned, with Asurmen hugging her from behind. Mood: Pensive, comforting.

Request 3: 聖剣伝説3 | Seiken Densetsu 3 | Trials of Mana (Video Game) - Fic - Hawkeye/Riesz

This ship is just full of sparks and chemistry, and I love the way Hawkeye and Riesz' personality play off of each other. Hawkeye is of course naturally flirtatious, whereas Riesz is very serious, and grew up living a courtly life and doesn't know much of the ways of the world. She can of course handle herself on the battlefield (and is the stronger in terms of raw strength between the two of them), but her life experience has been sheltered. On top of that, it seems at first like there's no way they can be together! A thief from Navarre, a princess of Rolante... how could be possible? Surely... no, it can't be! I love pining-related tropes in this ship, as well as their relationship being inhibited by circumstance, whether it's a matter of social station, or needing to save the world together first.

Fic Prompts:

  • Post-canon, Hawkeye and Riesz pine for each other from their respective countries, until another threat to the world causes the team to come together again.
  • During a fight against one of their various tough foes, Hawkeye gets injured and comes down with a fever. Then, Riesz tends to his wounds while he recovers.
  • Post-canon, Rolante and Navarre arrange a political marriage, and it's Hawkeye and Riesz, who both secretly have feelings for each other, and don't know about the other.
  • While out on their adventures, the rest of the party (6-member party AU anyone?) does some shenanigans to make Hawkeye and Riesz get together, since it's obvious they're crushing on each other.
  • Post-canon, Hawkeye and Riesz cross paths at some kind of formal event, like a ball or a treaty signing or someone else's wedding, and sparks fly as they pine for each other and maybe realize their hearts' desires.

Thanks for reading this!

Hopefully this gives you some ideas. I am sure I will like whatever you create.

Thank you.

Dear Yuletide Author,

Thanks for writing - I’m really excited for this Yuletide. I hope you’re excited as well!

In addition to this letter, I also maintain a longer, general letter about likes and dislikes if that's useful for you: https://firebatvillain.dreamwidth.org/5012.html .

Things I like:

Things I don’t like / DNWs:

In fic, my DNWs are authorial monarchist apologia, vivid descriptions of needles, pregnancy, and extreme underage.

Regarding the monarchism thing: I’m okay with characters in a feudal or monarchist setting, and even protags who are monarchs, and even these characters triumphing as monarchs as long as the story itself isn’t apologia for monarchism. I just would prefer not to read a work where the final moral of the story is that democracy is bad and we should all be ruled by a single person with absolute unchecked power, as presented by the author.

Requested Fandoms:

Request 1: The Masquerade Series- Baru Cormorant

I love the Masquerade. The novels are dense with ideas and ideology and ways society might be structured. Power, control, betrayal, and thoughts - the idea of incrastic thinking, the qualms. I like the bits about power and how institutions work and I like the world that has been built and revealed to us over the course of the story. I spent these books wanting to see Tain Hu's name written across history and blood, and a thousand pages mourning her.

I also think there's something very funny and intense about Baru, I love her blind spots and her weaknesses and her brilliance and her ruthlessness and the way she's not aware of how scary she is, except for when she is. I think it matters that on top of everything else, Baru is also a disaster and very extra. I love her.
My general letter contains my likes and dislikes, and here are some prompts to get you started:

  • In some kind of Modern AU, Baru Cormorant is an actual accountant sent to rescue and actual plant/factory that is having accounting and production issues.
  • Baru gets into a very toxic romance with someone, and incredibly manages to rationalize and compartmentalize it in some terrible and great way.
  • In school, Baru and the others are given a qualm to study, and Baru becomes convinced that something is afoot, regarding either the qualm or the study.
  • Baru Cormant during Traitor is dealing with another busy day in Treatymont, with her stresses piling up as the supposedly loyal Imperial Accountant, when Tain Hu comes by to tease her.

Request 2: かぐや様は告らせたい | Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai | Kaguya Wants to be Confessed To (Manga)  - Odajima Saburo, J Suzuki of Koenji, The Glutton Girl of Jinbocho, Tanuma Takahiko (Any combination)

These four characters are the Four Ramen Emperors of Tokyo and they represent one of my favorite side plots in Kaguya-Sama. I love their devotion, their silliness, their seriousness, and the times that they help and respect the main cast. I like that there is a whole world of ramen lovers, and these four are at the top of it, even if they're not the young people they used to be. It's so fun!

I encourage you to write whatever you want as long as it features at least one of the Four Ramen Emperors. You can use a subset of the characters rather than using all four if you prefer.

My general letter contains my likes and dislikes, and here are some prompts to get you started:

  • The Four Ramen Emperors gather in one place for the first time in a long time, and have a ramen related competition.
  • San of Shibuya, aka Odajima Saburo, runs into Fujiwara again, and comes to the aid (or perhaps, causing problems for) our heroes on account of feeling he owes Fujiwara a debt of gratitude.
  • The Immortal of Sugamo, aka Tanuma Takahiko, actually turns out to be related to Dr Tanuma Tsubasa, and Tanuma Shozo, and his family places him directly in the line of fire with the main plot.
  • The Glutton Girl of Jinbocho, reminded of her history with San of Shibuya, and feeling that perhaps their beliefs aren't in such conflict any more, meets with him again - will they rekindle their romance?

Request 3: Burberry "Hero" Commercial - Shirtless man | Centaur, Horse (Any Combination)

Find this fandom here: https://us.burberry.com/c/burberry-hero/ and here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=js3Q0QllYYQ

My notes on the Burberry "Hero" scent: Clear, crisp, refreshing, like a sea breeze and running on the beach at sunset, but not briny. No barny or musky scent, nothing that evokes horse scents or anything equine. I didn't notice smoke or campfire scents either.

Watching this video again, it's incredible. Driver's physicality, the beauty of his form, the intensity of his focus and his running, it's all remarkable. He's extremely embodies in this commercial, and it really shows. The horse is practically a background element. I also find the final result, when they merge into a centaur, to be over the top and humorous. I'd love something about what led to this transformation and story, more about the Shirtless man or even about the Horse. Bonus points if there's some kind of reason for them to... be a Centaur? I guess the impression I have is that somehow they merge and become one creature, but why? The horse seems happy to do it as well.

If you're looking for some prompts to inspire you, here are some optional prompts:

  • The shirtless man and the horse live in a society where only a few men are chosen to become centaurs. From the moment he crossed his first rite of passage, the shirtless man knew he wanted to become a centaur, and had to achieve this goal against steep odds.
  • The shirtless man is actually a practitioner of ancient, lost magics, in a world where magic is gradually fading out of the realm. With his trusty equine friend, he seeks to bring back magic via a fusion of both body and soul.
  • The shirtless man had a forbidden love, a centaur (creator's choice of gender). However, it could never be between the two of them, as any attempt at copulation would result in a horrible death and trampling. Thankfully, his trusty steed was willing to undergo a melding ritual...
  • Actually, all centaurs split into humans and horses when nobody is looking, which is how they get by in our modern society (think about like, vampires living among us, but instead centaurs). However, every few weeks they need to combine their two halves back into their natural form.

Request 4: A Tale of Future Crime (cohost post) - jackapedia - Darpa Killblade, Baltimore Airport, Crusty Silverware, Fishy Ramirez (Any Combination)

This is a fandom of an image of the back cover of a book that doesn't exist. Think of it as kinda like Goncharov, except nobody joined in on the joke, and the only artifact of the fandom is this one back cover (as well as a nice voiceover of it). It was posted by jackapedia to Twitter and to co-host: https://x.com/Jackapedia_/status/1631106301286547456 and https://cohost.org/chrisfulkerson/post/1117269-a-tale-of-future-cri

You might also appreciate this spoken performance: https://soundcloud.com/zenuel/hacker-voice

I love this parody of cyberpunk! Tums 2! The President of Cops! The owner of Circuit City's coolest jacket! I think this is unabashedly over the top, funny, and turned up to 11, and I'd love a story of any level of seriousness set in this fandom, related to this book back cover story. It could take the form of a fic or any other sort of written artifact, format wise, that ties in and gives us a bit more of the world of A Tale of Future Crime. I am here for silly, I'm here for action, I'm here for over the top, and I think I will love practically anything written in this fandom.

My general letter contains my likes and dislikes, and here are some prompts to get you started:

  • Do they manage to kill the President of Cops? What actually happens in the story, or perhaps a missing scene from this book that we never got to read because it's just a back cover.
  • How about a cool backstory? Baltimore Airport was lab-grown to be a swimsuit model, but something changed and later they were programmed to kill. Perhaps Baltimore is struggling against that killing nature, or maybe that's what set them free...
  • Crusty Silverware and Fishy Ramirez are doing a job together. It's a serious job, the kind of job that could earn then dozens of Bytes (that's the currency of the future, remember), but they're too distracted by their love for each other. Maybe Crusty and Fishy get real crusty and fishy with each other!
  • NitroNerv and Tums 2 aren't the only crazy future drugs. There's an entire world of them out there, including ones with crazy names like Flatline and The Crash and so on. What kind of crazy drug deals does Darpa Killblade get into with his incredibly cool jacket?

Thanks for reading this!

Hopefully this gives you some ideas. Avoiding the DNWs is significantly more important than any of this. Do what makes something good, what inspires you, and will let you have a good time writing.

Thank you.

Dear Trick or Treat Creator,

I'm happy with all art media.

DNWs:

Request 1: Baldur's Gate (Video Games) - Durgetash

  • Formats: Treat - Art, Treat - Fic, Trick - Art, Trick - Fic
Would he defy his father, a god, for Gortash? Would he descend into the revelry of killing to hide his feelings? Oh yes, anything is possible. As for depictions of Durge, I've often enjoyed fanart, comics and fics in which he is the "semi-canonical" White Dragonborn, but whatever custom Durge you imagine is also fine (I know he is often a Drow in fics and playthroughs).

What I love is for The Dark Urge and Enver Gortash to be willing to set aside everything for each other, to rule for each other, to even defy their gods for each other. All of course while being as evil as you please.

My general letter contains my likes and dislikes, and here are some prompts to get you started:

Art Prompts:
  • Gortash holding The Dark Urge's chin with his semi-gauntleted hand, pulling his face in close, faces in profile. Mood: Intense.
  • Gortash leaning back with his shirt extra open as The Dark Urge (white dragonborn default Durge) puts his nose down to Enver's chest and licks him with his lizard tongue. Mood: Sexy
Could it be on a pile of corpses or at the top of a burning city? Maybe!
  • Post-canon, Gortash is alive, and The Dark Urge is getting his memories back, and realizes his love.
  • Pre-canon, the Dark Urge and Enver Gortash team up to deal with betrayal from one of their allies - Ketheric? Orin?

Request 2: Naruto - Sakura

  • Formats: Treat - Fic, Trick - Fic
I'm a BAMF Sakura enjoyer! I think she deserved better and more than Kishimoto was willing to write for her. One thing that I think sets her apart a great deal from Sasuke and Naruto is that she is not the heir to any bloodline, she has no demons sealed in her, she doesn't have the legacy of a great ninja family to learn from: she is a regular ninja. When she rises to the top, it is because of her skill and effort and hard work, because of her brilliance and her strength that comes from her and nobody else.

I also think Kishimoto kind of overlooked her, and it's not enough to just make her strong and then oh whoops now it's the future and she married Sasuke and had a kid! No! Arg!

I do appreciate many attempts by authors to write BAMF Sakura stories. I love every one of them, even the ones that ship her with Naruto or Sasuke. Though I love it a lot more when she's shipped with anyone else, or is just doing her own thing. I also like it when the strength she achieves isn't because she's secretly an Uzumaki or secretly has the Mokuton or something - I want it to come from her own hard work, from her diligence, from her passion and anger! I want it to come from who she is as a person and not some unearned source.

I'd love a story focused on Sakura, perhaps during the timeskip era, and how she builds up her strength and grows as a person, particularly if she grows beyond her love.
My general letter contains my likes and dislikes, and here are some prompts to get you started:
  • It's during the time skip, and Sakura is frustrated at her lack of progress while both her teammates are out of the village. She finds a way to get a leg up via her studiousness, perhaps looking into scrolls of forbidden Jutsu.
  • Through a series of mishaps, schemes, or other unusual circumstances, Sakura ends up as the Hokage, perhaps after Tsunade, but really any time post-timeskip. Time to kick some serious butt! Or face some very scary situations!
  • Sakura was a top student in the academy, and becomes vicious during the Forest of Death to keep her teammates alive, using every trick in the book (or textbook) to fight off other ninja, perhaps even shocking her teammates with what she's capable of.
  • During the Kazekage Rescue Mission or any of the other early Shippuden missions out of the village, there are a lot of ways Sakura could have ended up separated from her friends and deep in dangerous or enemy territory. Pushed to the limit, can Sakura get herself (and any other vital allies, packages, etc) home with just her wits, her determination, and her strength?
Request-specific DNW: No shipping Sakura with Sasuke or Naruto. All other ships (or no ship) are good! "She started in love with Sasuke but moved on" is also good.

Request 3: Trials of Mana

  • Formats: Treat - Art, Treat - Fic
This ship is just full of sparks and chemistry, and I love the way Hawkeye and Riesz' personality play off of each other. Hawkeye is of course naturally flirtatious, whereas Riesz grew up living a courtly life and doesn't know much of the ways of the world.

My general letter contains my likes and dislikes, and here are some prompts to get you started:

Art Prompts:

  • Hawkeye and Riesz, sparring. Riesz has her spear pushing towards Hawkeye, who has crossed his two daggers to block it. Mood: playful

  • Hawkeye and Riesz, looking over a beautiful valley (perhaps between Laurent-ian mountains), holding hands. Mood: meditative

  • Hawkeye and Riesz, in bed together, with Hawkeye embracing Riesz from behind as they both sleep. Mood: peaceful
  • Hawkeye sitting on a bench, with Riesz laying down on it with her head in his lap. Mood: romantic, cute.

Thanks for reading this!

Hopefully this gives you some ideas. I am sure I will like whatever you create.

Thank you.

Dear FFFX Creator,

Thanks for writing or drawing for me - I’m really excited for this event. I've been in the exchange scene for a long time, but this is my first time doing FFFX, and i'm excited to participate! I hope you’re excited as well!

In addition to this letter, I also maintain a longer, general letter about likes and dislikes if that's useful for you: https://firebatvillain.dreamwidth.org/5012.html .

Characters floating against abstract backgrounds with aquatic or space-ey feels. I'm happy with all art media, from digital to watercolor to mixed media to others.

In comics, I appreciate a lot of the classic things - body language, close-ups, seeing characters interacts, and of course the beautiful "page turn into something cool" (which I know probably won't work in an online format, heheh).

Requests:

Request 1: Baldur's Gate - Durgetash

What I want out of this is for The Dark Urge and Enver Gortash to be willing to set aside everything for each other, to rule for each other, to even defy their gods for each other. All of course while being as evil as you please.

My general letter contains my likes and dislikes, and here are some prompts to get you started:
  • The Dark Urge and Enver Gortash do a heist together. They're HEIST buddies. Something focused on the POV of one of them as they begin to realize they love the other and have to change their plans to betray/murder the other. Or maybe it's after the fact in some kind of Reservoir Dogs style scenario where they try to figure out where it all went wrong? Either way, at some point they realize they want each other more than they want to betray each other. And then maybe they FUCK???
  • At the culmination of their plan, when they have all the power and everything has succeeded, The Dark Urge and Gortash have to reckon with their love for each other. This is the time when they're tested not just as schemers against the world, but as the Chosen of their gods. And at least, when told to betray each other, they make their choice. Well, maybe they betray Ketheric, lol. But after that... maybe they don't kill each other. And maybe they fuck?
  • Pre-canon, The Dark Urge and Enver Gortash team up to deal with a betrayal from one of their allies, which draws them into a web of deception as they try to find out what exactly is beginning to unravel their plans. Counter-planning by Ketheric? Orin making her move? The Emperor causing shenanigans? Or some kind of other issue that is subverting their soldiers, a mystery that might require wading through a sea of blood to solve. And in the end, maybe they suspect each other, but maybe they're the only ones who can be trusted with each other's secrets. And also maybe they fuck! Maybe they fuck!
  • I'd also like something about them meeting during canon. About them reconnecting, about The Dark Urge's memories coming back. Maybe the others are with him, maybe not, but either way, he and Enver have a lot of work to do to get things back on track, kill Orin, and subdue the Netherbrain. What's it like to rediscover you love someone, that you love something more than slaughter and death? And to find a path again together?
  • For a comic, I know that things often come in a bit tighter, story wise - I'd love even just a portion of any of these prompts to be brought to life if we matched on the comic medium. Whether that's snapshots of them falling in love, or turning away from betrayal, or moments of them over the burning city they now control, hand in hand, ready to conquer the world and rule it, or just with their hands bloody and their enemies slain. Lots to love there.

Request 2: Star Trek TNG - Char: Data

I like Data! I like Data a lot, and one of the things I like about him is the degree to which he has depth as a character that is not necessarily explored by the writers of the show, though I think Brent Spiner certainly understood! To me, Data is not a character without emotions or a sense of humor, these things are instead deeply buried within him and expressed in subtle or mild ways. And when we see his deep sense of loyalty and ethics, his friendship and compassion and love, along with his curiosity and drive to grow as a person and learn from humans and other sapients, I think we must understand Data as someone who is emotionally complex.

One thing I really liked was the plots where Data is given an opportunity to be in command, to deal with the prejudices of others, and the little insights we get into what his future career might be have been like as a captain - particularly in Redemption II, when he has to deal with a bigoted first officer while commanding the Sutherland. (Too bad he didn't remain as first officer after Chain of Command! Jellico was an asshole but Data deserved a promotion, I think).

I feel like canon kind of dealt Data a bad hand - we never get to see him continue on with his career, grow as a person and as an officer, and finally get that starship command that he deserves. What kind of missions would he face? How would he relate to his senior officers? How would they understand him? Well, i'd love a fic that was about something in an AU where Data survives and gets a command, or if we prefer to write something more canon-compliant, snapshot of one of the many times that Data must have been the senior officer on board the Enterprise (when the more senior officers weren't on hand) with command of the ship.

My general letter contains my likes and dislikes, and here are some prompts to get you started:
  • Data is appointed captain of a starship, sometime after the show canon in an AU where he lives. He has a chance to meet his new senior staff, which may be all new faces but may include a junior officer from the Enterprise who has been promoted as well. As they do their initial mission together, they face a delicate diplomatic situation - perhaps with the Romulans, perhaps with the Cardassians - where Data has to prove himself to his senior staff, but also make use of their abilities, knowledge, and diplomatic skills.
  • Data is awarded command of the Sutherland after the events of Redemption II. He has earned Hobson's respect, but a lot of the crew is new and the vessel itself could use some repairs. However, when they are en route to a starbase to fully repair the phaser power couplings, an urgent situation arrives, and they have to save the day with limited resources.
  • Data and his crew find themselves initiating diplomatic contact with a new warp-capable species. Data has to push his own charisma and understanding of sapient nature to the limits as he tries to negotiate with them (perhaps with the help of some crew who are experts in xenoculture) as some kind of other problem looms over their planet and Data's ship.
Request-specific DNW: I do not want Data to fuck.

Request 3: Naruto - Char: Haruno Sakura

I also like it when the strength she achieves isn't because she's secretly an Uzumaki or secretly has the Mokuton or something - I want it to come from her own hard work, from her diligence, from her passion and anger! I want it to come from who she is as a person and not some unearned source.

I'd love a story focused on Sakura, perhaps during the timeskip era, and how she builds up her strength and grows as a person, particularly if she grows beyond her love

My general letter contains my likes and dislikes, and here are some prompts to get you started:
  • It's during the time skip, and Sakura is frustrated at her lack of progress. She knows that Naruto and Sasuke were ahead of her even when they both left the village, and each day, she feels herself falling further behind. Things change though when she begins researching some of the old notes left behind from Orochimaru on bloodline grafting. Forbidden, of course. But it's her first step down a path to the power she needs.
  • Through a series of mishaps, schemes, or other unusual circumstances, Sakura ends up as the Hokage, perhaps after Tsunade, but really any time post-timeskip. As the village faces new perils, and Sakura faces challenges to her authority, she has to kick a lot of ass socially and physically to show that she's got what it takes to wear the big hat.
  • Sakura knew from the beginning she'd need to be strong to win over Sasuke, not just beautiful (which, of course, she obviously is, way more than Ino-pig!). And she also knew she had no clan techniques or bloodlines, so she trained twice as hard to be twice as strong in the run-up to the chunin exams. When the day came, she had a number of tricks up her sleeve that maybe changed how things went in the Forest of Death.

Request 4: A Study in Emerald - Holmes & Moriarty, Holmes & Watson, Holmes/Watson

I consider A Study in Emerald to have tremendous potential for fanworks (and it is, itself, a fanwork, as a crossover between the Cthulhu Mythos and Sherlock Holmes). I've enjoyed a lot of ASiE fics in the category of "a take on a classic story in this world" but I've also enjoyed when writers have gone their own route or tried to explore the aftermath of run-up to A Study in Emerald itself. The idea of a world haunted and ruled by the Great Old Ones, and the story of the Restorationists, fighting their power with only the tools of humanity in this dark alternate 1880s, is a lot of fun. So much is hinted at or referred to, but so little is revealed, in the original work. I'd love to see more, whether in the form of a fic or fanart of a scene.

Whether that's with Moriarty as the detective and Holmes as a mastermind criminal, or Holmes and Watson investigating some kind of happening relevant to the Restorationist cause, I'm a happy camper.
  • I'd like to see a treasure hunt, a heist, or a race against time, with Holmes and Watson hunting for an eldritch treasure that could be crucial to the Restorationist cause.
When war breaks out, does Holmes have a plan to lock wits with Moriarty once again, this time across a war-torn continent as horrors both eldritch and manmade are unleashed? Was the Archduke Franz Ferdinand killed by our heroic Restorationists, ready to wet their blades once more with the green blood of creatures from beyond this world?
  • I'd love to learn more about the Restorationists from the inside. Holmes is prone to obsession and wasting away, but he and John are close confidants in this story, men who set themselves against the (false) order of the world and sometimes may have only each other to trust. What do they do when they're not killing royals and hoodwinking Moriarty? Perhaps they have a time for their romance to develop, between their cases and their travels, in the new world or in Europe.
Request-specific DNW: No fics that are remixes of The Hound of the Baskervilles - I just got a great gift that was one and now I'm Hounds of the Baskervilles-ed out!

Request 5: Trials of Mana - Hawkeye/Riesz

This ship is just full of sparks and chemistry, and I love the way Hawkeye and Riesz' personality play off of each other. Hawkeye is of course naturally flirtatious, whereas Riesz grew up living a courtly life and doesn't know much of the ways of the world.

My general letter contains my likes and dislikes, and here are some prompts to get you started:
  • Post-canon, Hawkeye and Riesz pine for each other from their respective countries, until another threat to the world causes the team to come together again. There are a few ways this could be structured - maybe as an epistolary story where they write letters to each other, and we see them talk of new threats that emerge, and it transitions to a story where they meet and go on an adventure and all that love that was built up in those letters comes through.
  • During a fight against one of their various tough foes, Hawkeye gets injured and comes down with a fever. Then, Riesz tends to his wounds while he recovers. There are a few ways this could go, but one option could be something that requires a longer recovery. Maybe they need a week off for some kind of mana recovery, or so Hawkeye can do another class change, and they go to the beach or on a nice vacation? Or it could be something like a sprain where they just have to take it easy for a while. Either way, I'd like to see them with their hair down, a chance to be playful, etc!
  • Post-canon, Rolante and Navarre arrange a political marriage, and it's Hawkeye and Riesz, who both secretly have feelings for each other, and don't know about the other one reciprocating. There could be some kind of wedding shenanigans (all kinds welcome!) and maybe their first night together as they realize that actually, they deserve each other and can love each other... romantically and sexually!
  • While out on their adventures, the rest of the party (6-member party AU anyone?) does some shenanigans to make Hawkeye and Riesz get together, since it's obvious they're crushing on each other. I think in this scenario, I'd love for something a bit more wacky as the setup, but then for Hawkeye and Reisz to get a chance to talk and open up to each other. And maybe fuck!

Thanks for reading this!

Hopefully this gives you some ideas. I am sure I will like whatever you create.

Thank you.

Dear Battleship Creator,

Thanks for writing or drawing for me - I’m really excited for this event. I've been in the exchange scene for a long time, but this is my first time doing Battleship, and i'm excited to participate! I hope you’re excited as well!

In addition to this letter, I also maintain a longer, general letter about likes and dislikes if that's useful for you: https://firebatvillain.dreamwidth.org/5012.html .

Requests:

Request 1: Trials of Mana - Fic OR Art : Hawkeye/Riesz

This ship is just full of sparks and chemistry, and I love the way Hawkeye and Riesz' personality play off of each other. Hawkeye is of course naturally flirtatious, whereas Riesz grew up living a courtly life and doesn't know much of the ways of the world.

Here are some optional prompts to help inspire you, which can be combined with or incorporate some tags. Go wild!

Fic prompts:
  •
Post-canon, Hawkeye and Riesz pine for each other from their respective countries, until another threat to the world causes the team to come together again.

  • Hawkeye and Riesz kissing in profile, Hawkeye's hand underneath Riesz' chin. Mood: Romantic, steamy

  • Hawkeye hugging Riesz from behind as she's working on something (writing, maintaining her spear). Mood: Surprised, playful

Request 2: Warhammer 40k - Fic OR Art : 1: Jain Zar, The Avatar of Khaine/Jain Zar, The Avatar of Khaine & Jain Zar, Asurmen/Jain Zar

I'm a big fan of Jain Zar, ever since reading Jain Zar: The Storm of Silence. Whether it's during the Fall, as she and the remnants of the Aeldari civilization strive to create a new, better way, or during current times, as crises befall Aeldari and the Phoenix lords live again and again to fight for the future, or meet their doom in the Rhana Dandra. I also am interested in her relationship with Khaine (ex, the interaction she has with The Avatar of Khaine in the novel. It's clear there's antagonism, but also something else going on, as well as the fact that Khaine considers her a daughter of sorts, and that mental bond... a lot going on there!

This prompt is for something Jain Zar-focused, or shipping her with Asurmen or The Avatar, or a platonic relationship with the Avatar (as enemies, as foes, as family members, or as allies).

Art Prompts:
- Jain Zar, with her mask off, having a quiet moment sharpening the Silent Death and the Blade of Destruction. Mood: Pensive.
- Jain Zar dressed to impress, with regalia of a Phoenix Lord, holding a cocktail. Mood: Excited. Alternatively, Mood: put-upon, bored.
- Jain Zar, in full armor and holding her weapons, confronting facing us and ready for battle. Mood: Tense, angry.
- Jain Zar and Asurmen, masks off, conversing and smiling while seated at a park. Mood: Jovial, comfortable.
- Jain Zar and Asurmen testing their blades against each other in a practice spar. Mood: Friendly, competitive.
- Jain Zar and Asurmen on a smoky, dark battlefield, kissing as blood flows off their armor. Mood: Intense, needy.
- Jain Zar, in full armor, confronting the Avatar of Khaine, staring at him as he glowers at her in his Khaine-y way. Mood: Tense, angry.
- Jain Zar riding the Avatar, her head thrown back in a spasm of pleasure with blood and smoke in the air. Mood: Erotic, frightening.

Fic Prompts:
- Jain Zar travels the webway, hunting a treasure that may be crucial to the survival of the Aeldari race.
- Jain Zar encounters a stranded Drukhari (or other) vessel in the webway, and responds to a call for help.
- Jain Zar, perhaps in disguise, attends a Harlequin performance of one of her historic battles, and considers how the legend differs from what truly happened.
- Jain Zar and Asurmen meet before an important battle, and compare their ways of teaching their warriors and their philosophy of war.
- Jain Zar and Asurmen, in the aftermath of a bloody battle, with bloodlust fading and the horror of battle coming through find solace in each other's bodies.
- Jain Zar has a debate about servitude, murder and war with an Avatar of Khaine, who seeks her submission while she defies him, either verbally or sexually.

Request 3: Baldur's Gate 3 - Fic OR Art : The Dark Urge/Enver Gortash

Here's a few prompts if you're looking for something to inspire you.

Art Prompts:
- Gortash holding The Dark Urge's chin with his semi-gauntleted hand, pulling his face in close, faces in profile. Mood: Intense.
- Gortash leaning back with his shirt extra open as The Dark Urge (white dragonborn default Durge) puts his nose down to Enver's chest and licks him with his lizard tongue. Mood: Sexy
- The couple leaning together in a moment of relaxation, framed by a heart of evil-looking flame or some other magical effect. Mood: Cute. But also maybe evil?
- The Dark Urge and Gortash talking to each other. Speech bubble from Gortash with a tadpole or a gear or something serious, thought bubble from Durge with a knife or something violent. Mood: Silly.

Fic Prompts:
- The Dark Urge and Enver Gortash do a heist together. They're HEIST buddies. Something focused on the POV of one of them as they begin to realize they love the other and have to change their plans to betray/murder the other. And then they FUCK.
- At the culmination of their plan, when they have all the power and everything has succeeded, Durge and Gortash have to reckon with their love for each other. Maybe they fuck?
- Post-canon, Gortash is alive, and The Dark Urge is getting his memories back, and realizes his love.
- Pre-canon, the Dark Urge and Enver Gortash team up to deal with betrayal from one of their allies - Ketheric? Orin?

Request 4: Harry Potter - Fic : Draco Malfoy/Ron Weasley

This is awesome! If you think about it, isn't there way more dynamic chemistry, whether romantic or just rivalryish/friendish, between Draco and Ron, than between basically any two characters in canon? Sure, Draco nominally is rivals with Harry and is bloodist against Hermione, but who else has a rivalry on the tier that their dads get into a fight in a bookstore! There's good stuff here, whether it's as unexpected friends, or enemies who find their passion is more like love! I just love how much these two hate each other and also how much extra DRAMA there would be in a relationship between them, because their dads and their whole families ALSO hate each other. Here are some prompts to get you started...

- Draco and Ron get into what is nominally a competition to impress a romantic interest, but it turns out they're more into competing with each other than actually winning anyone's affection, and in the process, they realize they actually want each other and start making out, fucking, etc.

- Draco and Ron keep running into each other and social events that they can't avoid, and are repeatedly embarrassed by their fathers, who they have to keep bailing out of embarrassing and bad situations. This shared tribulation perhaps gives them some alone time to explore their true feelings?

- Draco and Ron end up as part of the same, gasp, group project! They hate this! But for some reason, maybe they need to get along for some reason? Or maybe one of them is sabotaging it, biting his own nose to spite his face. Maybe it's to make a potion. Maybe the potion makes them fuck???

- It's the wild west and Draco is an outlaw who just rode into Sheriff Weasley's town. But why is there something so entrancing about this devilishly charming fellow who has two wand holsters and is known to be the quickest draw in the west? Is it the 5,000 galleon bounty on his head, or is it something more?

- Oh no, it turns out Draco is some kind of man-veela, and through a horrible accident he has to fuck Ron or die! But wait, do they both like it? Maybe they make up some fake story for repeatedly meeting to fuck? Ohohohohoohohohohohohoho

Thanks for reading this!

Hopefully this gives you some ideas. I am sure I will like whatever you create.

Thank you.

Dear 40K Summer Fest Exchange Creator,

Thanks for writing or drawing for me - I’m really excited for this exchange. I enjoyed 40kSFE last year, and I'm glad it's back for another year, hehe! I hope you’re excited as well!

In addition to this letter, I also maintain a longer, general letter about likes and dislikes if that's useful for you: https://firebatvillain.dreamwidth.org/5012.html

I am open to extra treats in unrequested formats (fic/art/podfic etc).

If you offered this, I'm sure you have some ideas, but here are a few art & fic prompts I have in mind to inspire you.
  • Art: Jain Zar, with her mask off, having a quiet moment sharpening the Silent Death and the Blade of Destruction. Mood: Pensive.
  • Art: Jain Zar dressed to impress, with regalia of a Phoenix Lord, holding a cocktail. Mood: Excited. Alternatively, Mood: put-upon, bored.

  • Fic: Jain Zar travels the webway, hunting a treasure that may be crucial to the survival of the Aeldari race.
  • Fic: Jain Zar and Asurmen meet on the even of an important battle, and debate philosophy, fate, and war.
  • Fic: Jain Zar encounters a stranded Drukhari (or other) vessel in the webway, and responds to a call for help.
  • Fic: Jain Zar, perhaps in disguise, attends a Harlequin performance of one of her historic battles.
  •

Request 2: Warhammer 40k - Art : Puretide & Farsight

Puretide's fate is sad, and I'd like to focus on some happy times with him and Farsight! Perhaps some times when they were training together, or Puretide teaching Farsight something, or just Farsight thinking back on him. I am highly sympathetic to these guys. Death to the Ethereal Caste! Here are a few prompts to get you started.
  • That scene from Blades of Damocles, as Farsight destructively brain-scans Puretide: ‘Do not trust them all, my child,’ whispered Puretide. ‘Do not trust them all.’ - Mood: Angsty
  • Puretide lecturing gesturing to a blackboard, explaining a military concept to a young Farsight. Mood: Light-hearted
  • Farsight & Puretide, leaning over a counter or table and reviewing an important military document. Mood: Pensive
  •

Request 3: Warhammer 40k - Fic OR Art : Ynnead & Khaine & Cegorach & Isha

It's the Crew! The Squad! We're up to four Eldar Gods alive, er, sort of alive, and counting! Party time. We all know when Rhana Dandra comes, each Aeldari God is gonna grab one of the Chaos Gods and give them a good what-for, right? Ynnead v Slaanesh, Khaine v Khorne, Cegorach v Tzeentch, Isha v Nurgle, it's on! In the meantime, though, do you think the 4 living-ish Eldar gods ever get together for tea? Or whatever the godly equivalent is now. Now, yes, only one of these guys is alive + free but I'm sure they can work something out. Here are some fic and art prompts to have fun with, though if you offered this I'm sure you have some ideas!
  • Fic: Ynnead, Khaine, Cegoarch, & Isha get a conference call going for the first time. What kind of shenanigans ensue?
  • Fic: The Squad is getting together to plan a major ecumenical council to sort out what theology looks like in the quad-theistic system.
  • Fic: The Crew decide to compete to see who can convince a follower to do the most impressive feat of devotion.
  • Fic: The Crew get into a discussion about whether or not each of them really counts as a god, due to hiding, being imprisoned, being half-alive, etc.
  • Art: The four gods sitting around a table having a cute tea party, laughing and joking (or as close to that as Khaine can get, he's kinda a dick and we all know it). Mood: Cutesy and funny.
  • Art: The four gods looming impressively over a sea of stars. Cegorach is pickpocketing Khaine. Mood: Awe-inspiring, foreboding, with a hint of whimsy.
  • Art: The four gods each poking at a board game board, moving pieces around. Isha just looks happy to be here. Mood: Pensive, or maybe serious?

Thanks for reading this!

Hopefully this gives you some ideas. I am sure I will like whatever you create. 40k is fun!

Thank you.

Dear Sakura Exchange Creator,

Requested Fandoms:

Request 1: Chainsaw Man (Manga) - Fic - Denji & Power

I love these two! There's so much... gremlin energy! They are so awful and also are so there for each other in their immature ways. They're a ton of fun and I always enjoy reading about them. I know some people ship it and I don't mind that, but for me the way their personalities bounce off of each other and the way they get into shenanigans (and serious things) together, and the small moments where they're even there for each other is excellent.

Here's a few prompts if you're looking for something to inspire you.
- Denji and Power find themselves saddled with a serious responsibility - looking after a team member's young child for the day.
- Denji and Power have to solve a mystery of some kind, and put all of their (at times limited) social skills and brainpower together to do it.
- Nyako has gone missing, and Power is looking for her! Denji is doing his best to help and they get into all kinds of hijinks as a result.

Request 2: Legend of the Galactic Heroes - Fic - Siegfried Kircheis/Reinhard von Lohengramm

I’ll admit to not having watched nuLOGH! I’m just here for those deleted scenes that you could imagine playing out of what could have been between Kircheis and Reinhardt, I'm happy with something set before Kircheis' canonical death, or an AU where he survives. The politics and ideas of this series are kind of A Lot so there’s no need to encapsulate it all, but I always found the conflict that drove the characters fascinating - and I’m not just talking about spaceships blowing up. Though if it's just something about spaceships blowing up, count me in for that, too. The battles and interactions that happen in this anime are great and anything that reminds me of that is also neat.

Here's a few prompts if you're looking for something to inspire you.
- The assassination attempt against Reinhard goes as it went canonically, but Kircheis isn't killed, just badly injured. The two of them have a chance to talk, and maybe, admit some feelings - perhaps with Kircheis waking up a few days later after things went basically as they did in canon.
- A quiet moment between Kircheis and Reinhard before Kircheis deploys to fight in the Imperial Civil War. An admission of feelings, or something even more, a last chance for them before a risky separation that Kircheis may not return from.
- A scene set in an AU where Kircheis lives, before Reinhard makes a big mistake in ruling over his new Empire in how he deal with the deterioration of things with von Reuenthal.

Request 3: Naruto - Fic or Art - Sakura/Ino

I love the rivalry and friendship between these two! And I think it could have, or should have, been something more. At the very least, I would have liked better for both of them in terms of how their romances were characterized canonically. They may be the only ones who understand each other, and perhaps in their competition for Sasuke's love they realize how much they appreciate and respect each other? Or just leave that guy out entirely, who cares about him. And imo, nobody can really appreciate Sakura the way Ino can, and vice versa. They deserve each other! They deserve better!

Art Prompts:

- Ino and Sakura in casualwear, sitting on a bench together and holding hands. Mood: calm
- Ino and Sakura clashing kunai in training, looking determined, but with a heart in the background. Mood: determined
- Ino hugging Sakura from behind as she's reading or writing on a scroll at a desk. Mood: cute

Fic Prompts:
- Ino and Sakura get into a ridiculous competition for Sasuke's love, but realize they love each other.
- Sakura comes back from a mission unconscious, and only the skills and love of Ino can bring her back. And then they KISS.
- Sakura and Ino show off their skills to each other later in canon, and then they KISS.

Thanks for reading this!

Hopefully this gives you some ideas. I am sure I will like whatever you create.

Thank you.

Dear Bite-Sized Fandoms Exchange Writer,

Thanks for writing for me - I’m really excited for this exchange. I love the idea of picking up easy-to-pick-up fandoms and writing for them! I hope you’re excited as well! I’m FireBatVillain on Ao3 and Tumblr.

In addition to my DNWs, I hope you consider the prompts and likes in this letter as you work, and that they inspire you to make something you enjoy creating and that tickles my fancy! These prompts are meant to inspire, not restrain/restrict, so feel free to go outside these prompts and create what you like!

In addition to this letter, I also maintain a longer, general letter about likes and dislikes if that's useful for you: https://firebatvillain.dreamwidth.org/5012.html

I am open to treats!

Things I like:

Happy stories, bittersweet stories, and stories that end with a spark of hope even if they are angry or sad. I like good communication, wordplay, honor, pointless heroism or love even if it won’t succeed. Probably one of my favorite ideas in fiction is the idea of heroism in the face of hopelessness, and love even if things seem sad.

A lot of the stuff I'm requesting here is funny or a bit silly. I like funny and silly, so feel free to go that direction with things!

A little mini scene or interaction, an ending or a beginning, that could be a canon-compliant off-screen scene or interaction - sounds fun! I also like AUs and alternate imaginings. For some of these fandoms that are just a music video or something, it's kind of a "let the imagination run wild" scenario, so go for it!

I like explicit content and smut. I am okay with darkfic. I do not mind any of the archive warnings aside from what's listed in my DNWs.

Things I don’t like / DNWs:

My DNWs are authorial monarchist apologia, vivid descriptions of needles, pregnancy, and extreme underage.

Requested Fandoms:

Request 1: The Ballad of Smokin' Joe Rudeboy - Tom Cardy (Music Video)  - Bo/Velvet Man, Daughter & Velvet Man

I love this song! It's a delightful mix of serious and funny and it has moments of drama and moments that make me want to learn more about the world. Smokin' Joe is, of course, willing to give a big fat "fuck you" to someone who charges too much for a soy cappuccino or who is impolite about party etiquette, but he also took down the Mongoose Mountain Gang! But what I'm requesting here is about the side characters that most interest me: Bo, the Velvet man, and the Daughter. I want to know about the story of what happened there. Did the Outlaw and Bo run off together? Did she die and then did he raise the Daughter? What was their relationship like?

Some prompts if you're looking for them:

  • What were those 18 years apart like for The Daughter? She has a velvet cloak - was she raised by The Outlaw? What was her tough life like and their relationship like? Is she herself an outlaw?
  • I'd love to read a story about what happened with Bo and The Outlaw - she died, after all, but maybe The Outlaw isn't so bad, since it seemed he adopted The Daughter. Perhaps they were in love? Though it seems Daughter had some misconceptions about Smokin' Joe, so she didn't get the whole story.
  • One prompt that's going through my head: if the Outlaw has died somewhere by the end of the confrontation, maybe there's a tearful final scene where he passes on some wisdom and a final benediction to his adopted daughter.
Feel free to make up names for unnamed characters if you feel it would help the story.

Request 2: This was my favorite part of the Bible - CheeseParade (YouTube Video) - : Solo: Sinless Steve, Jesus Christ & Sinless Steve

Prompts:
  • The fight continues! Will Sinless Steve or will Jesus Christ prevail? Can the tag people in? Are there other moves they'll bust out? The Sinless Suplex? The Prophet Piledriver?
  • Sinless Steve wants revenge! It's time to see him rile up the crowd and learn how his journey has shaped him and prepared him for another bout!
  • Tag team! Sinless Steve and Jesus Christ have to team up for a tag team event. Can our heroes set their differences aside as they face off against two vicious heels?

Request 3: Empire's Tribute (Tumblr) - Tatyus Stan & Tatyus Hater

If you're not sure what this fandom is, check out my comment on the promo post: https://bitesizedfandomsex.dreamwidth.org/777.html?thread=21769#cmt21769 to learn about it.

I love this fandom! In particular, I love the depiction of fandom that is implied and told between the lines of these memes that are written about these characters. We know, for example, that GrenTat shippers don't like that he was made less threatening in the show, but also that he is a divisive, morally complex character with lots of haters because he does bad things. "Don't @ me if you think Tatyus was morally justified"! And he got a lot of attention in the books but not the show. He's irredeemable and people love him! The drama around it must be enormous.

Prompts:

  • A major argument breaks out between a Tatyus Stan and a Tatyus Hater. Call-out posts, line by line arguments, anon hate on Tumblr, reddit hobbydrama thread, Discord mod drama, spitefic, the whole 9 yards! This could be told in whatever format you like.
  • A Tatyus Hater gets their friend into the fandom... only to discover that their friend has become the worst possible thing, a Tatyus Stan!
  • A Tatyus Stan and Tatyus Hater get into a discussion about the actor who portrays Tatyus in the show after the actor gives an interview with an ambiguously interpretable statement about Tatyus' morality.
  • Reddit post: AITA for blocking an internet friend after learning he was a Tatyus Hater?

Request 4: God I miss the days when you could show up to a stranger's farm - s4mm4n - Farmer's Boy / Narrator

Original post here: https://web.archive.org/web/20191112200115/https://s4mm4n.tumblr.com/post/186763378087/god-i-miss-the-days-when-you-could-show-up-to-a

If you offered this, I think you know what you want to write for it already, hehehe. If you want some ideas, I like things that are funny, sexy, smutty, and longing! That night, or another night, or who knows what comes next. Pining ok. Some more explicit prompts:

  • What happens that night, after everyone beds down?
  • Is there a future for the narrator and the farmboy? Or is he just talking longingly of an experience he once had, and how he misses those days. Or can they be reunited?
Feel free to make up names for unnamed characters if you feel it would help the story.

Thanks for reading this!

Hopefully this gives you some ideas. I am sure I will like whatever you write.

Thank you.

Dear Candy Hearts Exchange Creator,

Thanks for writing or drawing for me - I’m really excited for this exchange. Candy Hearts is one of my favorite exchanges, and I'm glad it's back for another year, hehe! I hope you’re excited as well! I’m FireBatVillain on Ao3 and Tumblr.

Aside from my DNWs, I hope you consider the prompts and likes in this letter as you work, and that they inspire you to make something you enjoy creating and that tickles my fancy! These prompts are meant to inspire, not restrain/restrict, so feel free to go beyond these prompts and create what you like!

In addition to this letter, I also maintain a longer, general letter about likes and dislikes if that's useful for you: https://firebatvillain.dreamwidth.org/5012.html

Here's a few prompts if you're looking for something to inspire you.

Art Prompts:
  • Gortash holding The Dark Urge's chin with his semi-gauntleted hand, pulling his face in close, faces in profile. Mood: Intense.
  • Close up of Gortash and The Dark Urge's hands held in each other's hands, and in the background, the city burns. Mood: dark
  • The Dark Urge holding a knife to Gortash's throat, leaning over him and smiling seductively. Maybe dripping blood? Mood: Sexy
  • Pre-canon, the Dark Urge and Enver Gortash team up to deal with betrayal from one of their allies - Ketheric? Orin?

  • Jain Zar and Asurmen, masks off, conversing and smiling while seated at a park in a craftworld, holding hands or being affectionate with each other. Mood: Cheerful, cute
  • Jain Zar and Asurmen testing their blades against each other in a practice spar. Mood: Friendly, competitive.
  • Jain Zar and Asurmen reading books while sunbathing on the beach (or under a parasol) It's vacation time!. Mood: Relaxed
  • Jain Zar and Asurmen in combat armor, back to back, as darkness, shadows, or threatening shapes swirls around them. Mood: Tense

Hawkeye is of course naturally flirtatious, whereas Riesz grew up living a courtly life and doesn't know much of the ways of the world.

Thank you.

Dear Author/Artist,

Thank you so much for writing or drawing for me!

This is a general-purpose, higher-detail list of likes and dislikes. This is focused on my likes in writing, and also contains my likes in art.

I am excited for anything you create. Stuff I include in letters, aside from my short list of DNWs, are optional. Prompts are just suggestions to help motivate or inspire you. Create whatever speaks to you and gets things working!

I put together this post to try to cover my general likes, which I've found myself rewriting a lot for letters. It's basically a list of tags and ideas that I like or dislike, and it goes into more detail than the letter I write for exchanges.

Dear Yuletide Author,

Thanks for writing - I’m really excited for this Yuletide. I hope you’re excited as well! I’m FireBatVillain on Ao3 and Tumblr.

The stuff I’m including in this letter is optional, but I hope you consider them as you work. Whatever you make, I’ll appreciate it regardless, and I look forward to whatever comes. Prompts are just suggestions.

In addition to this letter, I also maintain an more detailed, general post about likes and dislikes if that's useful for you at all: https://firebatvillain.dreamwidth.org/3098.html

Things I like:

Happy stories, bittersweet stories, and stories that end with a spark of hope even if they are angry or sad. I like good communication, wordplay, honor, pointless heroism or love even if it won’t succeed. Probably one of my favorite ideas in fiction is the idea of heroism in the face of hopelessness.

I'm a fan of explorations of fandom meta, and I've often enjoyed canon-compliant off-screen fics that explore things are great! Some of my favorite stories of all time fit into the category of "AU - Canon Divergence" and I would say I am a common fan of "what if things were different in X way" type AUs. I do not usually enjoy modern or mundane AUs that much, but I've liked a few.

I like fics that have a lot of frantic energy about them, or with a focus on revolution or social change. I am a fan of fics that are about characters being ruthless in pursuit of an ideal, and giving something up or even becoming worse as a result.

Things I don’t like / DNWs:

My DNWs are pregnancy, authorial monarchist apologia, vivid descriptions of needles, and extreme underage.

Saber or Iskandar in Fate/Zero, Reinhard von Lohengramm from LoGH, etc is excellent. I just would prefer not to read a work where the final moral of the story is that democracy is bad and we should all be ruled by a single person with absolute unchecked power, as presented by the author.

Requested Fandoms:

Request 1: Suzume no Tojimari - Any Character

I found this movie so moving and fun, both emotionally stirring and funny! I really fell in love with the characters, and we only get little glimpses of what happens to them after the events of the film. I'd love anything related to that, or any more of Daijin and Sadaijin. Something uplifting and fun, maybe?

Here are a few prompts if you're looking for inspiration:

  • Suzume and Chika meet up again later, perhaps on a break from school, or perhaps later on, and talk about boys or life.
  • Suzume is off to university in Kobe! She tops by to check in on Rumi.
  • Serizawa takes his car to get repaired.
  • Souta speaks with his grandfather after the events of the movie.
  • Tamaki has a date tonight, and Suzume is encouraging her.

I encourage you to write whatever you want as long as it features at least one of the Four Ramen Emperors. You can use a subset of the characters rather than using all four if you prefer. Some prompts:

Request 3: The Diamond Age - Judge Fang, Lieutenant Chang, Miss Pao, Dr. X (Any Combin

I recently read The Diamond Age, and my brain is still buzzing with the ideas that were introduced in it! I think that as usual, Stephenson did much better with the first half of the novel than he did with the second half, but wow did I love that first half! The conflict with the Celestial Kingdom and the Coastal Republic was interesting, and I also think it's the kind of thing that made a lot more sense to write about and seemed even reasonable in the 90s that would strain credulity now that China has so much more high tech industry and accounts for such a larger share of GDP. I'm still left feeling like we missed out on some fun times that I'd like to see explored further. I absolutely love Judge Fang, and am sad we don't really see him in the second half of the novel, and particularly I find him + his subordinates and allies to be very entertaining and have great comedy and personality chemistry on screen.

If you're looking for some prompts to inspire you, here are some optional prompts:
  • A story about Judge Fang, Lieutenant Chang, and Miss Pao's adventures as part of the Celestial Kingdom after they defect. What kind of justice they serve, involvement in the civil wars, and so on.
  • A story about Judge Fang's decision to join the Celestial Kingdom and how he, Lietuenant Chang, and Miss Pao defected.
  • A story about Judge Fang and Dr. X's scheming and helping the orphaned girls who eventually join Nell. Aside from manufacturing the books, they must have provided many other things for them.

Request 4: The Ballad of Smokin' Joe Rudeboy - Tom Cardy (Music Video)  - Any

I love this song! It's a delightful mix of serious and funny and it has moments of drama and moments that make me want to learn more about the world. Smokin' Joe is, of course, willing to give a big fat "fuck you" to someone who charges too much for a soy cappuccino or who is impolite about party etiquette, but he also took down the Mongoose Mountain Gang! The core of the drama, about Bo, The Outlaw, and The Daughter, interests me a lot as well.

Some prompts if you're looking for them:

  • What is life like for Smokin' Joe and The Daughter after canon? It seems like they've partially reconciled, but after 18 years apart, there's a lot to be teased through.
  • What were those 18 years apart like for The Daughter? She has a velvet cloak - was she raised by The Outlaw? What was her tough life like? Is she herself an outlaw?
  • I'd love to read a story about what happened with Bo and The Outlaw - she died, after all, but maybe The Outlaw isn't so bad, since it seemed he adopted The Daughter.

Thanks for reading this!

Hopefully this gives you some ideas. Avoiding the DNWs is significantly more important than any of this. Do what makes something good, what inspires you, and will let you have a good time writing.

Thank you.

Dear Seasons of Drabbles Author,

Thanks for writing - I'm super pumped for this exchange! It'll be my third time taking part in this exchange. I hope you’re excited as well! I’m FireBatVillain on Ao3 and Tumblr.

The stuff I’m including in this letter is optional as always, but I hope you consider them as you work. Whatever you make, I’ll appreciate it regardless, and I look forward to whatever comes. Prompts are just suggestions.

In addition to this letter, I also maintain an optional, general post about likes and dislikes if that's useful for you at all: https://firebatvillain.dreamwidth.org/3098.html

Things I like:

I like good communication, wordplay, honor, pointless heroism or love even if it won’t succeed. Probably one of my favorite ideas in fiction is the idea of heroism in the face of hopelessness, and love even if things seem sad.

A little mini scene or interaction, an ending or a beginning, that could be a canon-compliant off-screen scene or interaction - sounds fun! I also like AUs and alternate imaginings, if that can be crammed into a drabble, heheh.

I'm comfortable with and enjoy all levels of explicitness/maturity in fics and art.

Anyway - on to the important stuff!

Things I don’t like / DNWs:

In a drabble, my DNWs are authorial monarchist apologia, vivid descriptions of needles, pregnancy, and extreme underage.

I just would prefer not to read a work where the final moral of the story is that democracy is bad and we should all be ruled by a single person with absolute unchecked power, as presented by the author.

Some other notes:

The inclusion of additional unrequested characters, ships, and ideas are A-OK with me, as is explicit content. Please feel free to use whatever prompts you like and don’t feel constrained by my suggestions here - aside from the DNWs and the tags we mall of this is included to inspire, rather than constrain. I do not mind darkfic. I do not mind any of the archive warnings aside from what's listed in my DNWs.

Requested Fandoms:

Request 1: Rurouni Kenshin: Saitou Hajime, Himura Kenshin

I really enjoy Kenshin and Saitou as former manslayers trying to find their way in a new era, and anything in during the revolution or during canon would be interesting about either of them.

Here are a few optional prompts to get the creative gears turning:

  • Kenshin practices a new move, his own personal addition to Hiten Mitsurugi-ryu.
  • Saitou contemplates the meaning of Aku Soku Zan - either during the revolution, or during canon
  • Kenshin and Saito meet during the revolution.

Request 2: I Was a Teenage Exocolonist - Sol, Marz

I recently finished playing this game/VN extensively, and it was a blast! I liked the world it built and the characters we met along the way. Vertumna is a great, hostile, mysterious, and fun setting, and the plot element that allowed for replays was great. We get a lot of revelations through the many runs, and see so many little scenes that could have happened or could have gone another way. I'd love to see something that might have happened during a difficult timeline for the colony and for Sol, or something about Marz's ambition!

I don't have a preference on Sol's gender, I did playthroughs with a variety of options and found them all interesting.

Here are a few optional prompts if you're looking for inspiration:

  • Sol's memories back coming to them when they're young and trying to convince their parents of something.
  • A busy day in the life Marz, now the Governor after the events of the game. Or maybe a quiet, reflective moment for her, now that she has it all?
  • In one of the later game years, Sol and Marz plan their coup against Lum.
Request 3: Suzume no Tojimari - Any Character

I found this movie so moving and fun, both emotionally stirring funny!

Request 4: Harry Potter - Ron Weasley

I love Ron! I think he's goofy and fun and he has a bunch of unresolved issues and insecurities and desires but he's also just a good kid. I'd love a little Ron scene, canonical or not, set in any era or AU. Here are a few prompts if you're looking for inspiration:
  • Ron playing with his siblings as a kid at the Burrow.
  • Ron as a child when one of his older siblings first moves to Hogwarts, or moves out for work as an adult.
  • Ron making a save in a quidditch match at Hogwarts.
  • Ron struggling to be a good friend to Harry.
  • Ron, post canon, making an important life decision about love or work.

Thanks for reading this!

Hopefully this gives you some ideas. I am sure I will like whatever you create. Drabbles are fun!

Thank you.

Dear Trick or Treat Creator,

  • Formats: Treat - Art, Treat - Fic
  • Tags: Iwato Suzume, Iwato Tamaki, Serizawa Tomoya, Amabe Chika & Iwato Suzume,
I found this movie so moving and fun, both emotionally stirring and funny! I really fell in love with the characters, and we only get little glimpses of what happens to them after the events of the film. I'd love anything related to that, showing what kind of cool things they get up to, or a moment they share! I'm also interested in missing scene type fics, or what-ifs that are fun and interesting.

Art Prompts:
  • Suzume pushing her hand against a mundane but decrepit door. Mood: Pensive
  • Tamaki, dressed up and made up to go on a date. Mood: Optimistic
  • Serizawa, looking surprised as he checks his phone. Mood: Silly
  • Chika & Suzume, meeting up again and hugging. Mood: Happy

  • Suzume and Chika meet up again later, perhaps on a break from school, or perhaps later on, and talk about boys or life.

Request 2: Baldur's Gate (Video Games)

  • Formats: Treat - Art, Treat - Fic, Trick - Art, Trick - Fic
  • Tags: Minthara Baenre
Minthara! She's also clearly not like, a "good person" by any meaning of the word. She talks about the things she did in service of Lolth of her own free will, and how she has tortured people for information, but she also wants revenge on the Absolute, and is 100% ruthless in every decision or idea that might help make that happen. She knows they want to end the world and enslave every sapient being, and she wants to stop that at any cost, so she can keep doing Minthara things in that world. What Minthara things? Well, don't worry about it. She's torn up because of the things she did while mind controlled by the Absolute, and says that even if her connection to Lolth is damaged by that, she will stand by her oath no matter what, and get revenge on the Absolute. She's very noble in a way. By the standards of Lolth Drow culture she's probably the equivalent of an honorable, noble paladin. And she's from a powerful family, etc. What an interesting character!

Art Prompts:
  • Minthara petting when of her pet spiders. Perhaps it was just fed a goblin underling? Mood: Peaceful.
  • Minthara hefting Xyanyde, blood dripping from its flanges. Mood: Bloodthirsty.
  • Minthara grimacing and trying to resist the tadpole as a psychic wave attacks her head. Mood: Fearful, Painful.
Fic Prompts:
  • Minthara, after being freed from the tadpole's influence, contemplates her faith in Lolth and her oath.
  • Minthara talks to Tav & co prior to an important fight, preparing these young people for an important battle.
  • Minthara getting her revenge - on anyone! But especially Ketheric. Fuck Ketheric tbh.

Request 3: The Raven Tower - Ann Leckie

  • Formats: Treat - Art, Treat - Fic, Trick - Art
  • Tags: The Strength and Patience of the Hill, The Myriad, The Myriad & The Strength and Patience of the Hill
I read this novel this year and found it positively charming! I think Myriad stole the show, as did Strength and Patience! I'm so curious to know what they got up to in various parts of their long lives, and what awaits them now that Strength and Patience is free, and what Myriad was up to while he was trapped. Eolo & co are also neat but I'm here for these two!

Art Prompts:
  • The Myriad on the prow of the boat, in a stonelike form with iron and peridot. Mood: Heroic.
  • The Strength and Patience of the Hill, surrounded by strange mechanisms in the bowels of the tower. Mood: Gloomy.
Fic Prompts:
  • The Myriad talks to Strength and Patience after the events of canon, and they have a joyful reunion
  • Strength and Patience speculates about the way he was worshiped in the north, and what kind of person is well suited to be his priest.
  • The Myriad goes on an adventure in the west prior to the events of the book, while Strength and Patience is trapped.

Request 4: Original Work

  • Formats: Treat - Art, Treat - Fic, Trick - Art, Trick - Fic
  • Tags: Ghost Outlaw Cowboy, Sheriff & Ghost Outlaw Cowboy, Sheriff & Ghost Outlaw-Turned-Sheriff, Sheriff/Ghost Outlaw Cowboy, Vampire that only drinks fish blood, Witch's Cat
A few ideas in here that could be played for laughs or for screams! Here are some prompts to go with these already prompt-ey tags, heheh.

Art Prompts:
  • A ghostly outlaw with a cowboy hat, a bandana, and a revolver, smirking against a dark night. Mood: Spooky fun!
  • A sheriff and a ghost outlaw cowboy squaring off over a moonlit western main street, ready to draw - or smooch??? Mood: Tense.
  • A male vampire sinking his teeth into a fish, looking like he's been caught in the headlights as he's done so. Mood: Surprised.
  • A black cat prowling in a spooky halloween environment, maybe with pumpkins. Mood: Cute, playful.
Fic Prompts:
  • The new sheriff in town has to deal with the notorious outlaw, but finds out to his dismay he can't shoot him - he's already dead!
  • The new sheriff in town has to team up with the notorious outlaw who is a ghost to bring in a killer.
  • Or maybe the new sheriff in town decides he wants to do more than just team up with the notorious outlaw ghost...
  • Ghost Outlaw Cowboy returns to town and wants to get a drink, but can't, because he's not substantial enough!
  • Vampire who was a pescatarian in life works very hard to remain a pescatarian as a vampire. Harder than you'd think!

Thanks for reading this!

Hopefully this gives you some ideas. I am sure I will like whatever you create.

Thank you.

Dear Seasons of Drabbles Author,

Thanks for writing - I'm super pumped for this exchange! It'll be my second time taking part in this exchange.

Happy stories, bittersweet stories, and stories that end with a spark of hope even if they are angry or sad. I like good communication, wordplay, honor, pointless heroism or love even if it won’t succeed. Probably one of my favorite ideas in fiction is the idea of heroism in the face of hopelessness, and love even if things seem sad.

A little mini scene or interaction, an ending or a beginning, that could be a canon-compliant off-screen scene or interaction - sounds fun! I also like AUs and alternate imaginings, if that can be crammed into a drabble, heheh.

I'm comfortable with and enjoy all levels of explicitness/maturity in fics and art.

Anyway - on to the important stuff!

Things I don’t like / DNWs:

In a drabble, my DNWs are authorial monarchist apologia, vivid descriptions of needles, and extreme underage.

Request 3: A Song of Ice and Fire - Benjen Stark

A lot of what's interesting about Benjen happens before the events of the first book. He was the Stark in Winterfell during Robert's Rebellion - he saw his father, as well brother Brandon and his sister Lyanna die. Ned almost certainly entrusted the truth of Jon's parentage to Benjen, who may have known more about Lyanna running away than anyone else. I'd love a little snippet or scene about him!

Here are a few optional prompts if you're looking for a starting point:

  • Ned returns to Winterfell after the war, and Benjen learns the truth, and grieves.
  • Benjen, when he realizes Lyanna has run away with and/or been abducted by Prince Rhaegar.
  • Benjen comes to Winterfell sometime before canon to see his brother, his nieces and nephews, and Jon.
  • A scene of Benjen's experience at the tourney at Harrenhal, plotting with Lyanna or seeing something amiss.
Request 4: Suzume no Tojimari - Any Character

I found this movie so moving and fun, both emotionally stirring funny!

Thanks for reading this!

Hopefully this gives you some ideas. I am sure I will like whatever you create. Drabbles are fun!

Thank you.

Dear 40K Summer Fest Exchange Creator,

Thanks for drawing or writing for me - I'm super pumped for this exchange! It'll be my first time taking part in a 40k exchange. I've been in the 40k fandom a long time, and it's neat to see a 40k fandom exchange.

In addition to this letter, I also maintain an optional, general post about likes and dislikes if that's useful for you at all. It's primarily focused on writing: https://firebatvillain.dreamwidth.org/3098.html

Things I like in writing:

A little mini scene or interaction, an ending or a beginning, that could be a canon-compliant off-screen scene or interaction - sounds fun! I also like AUs and alternate imaginings.

Things I like in art:

Characters hugging, cute animal companions, manifestations of magic or religion-warp stuff (for 40k), characters looking fierce holding a weapon, item, or tool. characters floating against abstract backgrounds with warp or space-ey feels. I'm happy with all art media.

In terms of mood: I like moods that are cozy, happy, fierce, or exciting, but I don't like moods in art that are dismaying, horrifying, or depressing.

In terms of how to depict the characters, feel free to diverge from straightforward direct physical depiction if you'd like!

Some other notes:

The inclusion of additional unrequested characters, ships, and ideas on top of my requests are A-OK with me, as is explicit content. Please feel free to use whatever prompts you like and don’t feel constrained by my suggestions here - aside from the DNWs and the tags, all of this is included to inspire, rather than constrain. I do not mind darkfic. I do not mind any of the archive warnings aside from what's listed in my DNWs.

Requested Fandoms:

Request 1: Warhammer 40k - Art : Jain Zar, Jain Zar & Khaine, Jain Zar & Asurmen

If you offered this, I'm sure you have some ideas, but here are a few art prompts I have in mind to inspire you.
  • Jain Zar, with her mask off, having a quiet moment sharpening the Silent Death and the Blade of Destruction. Mood: Pensive.
  • Jain Zar dressed to impress, with regalia of a Phoenix Lord, holding a cocktail. Mood: Excited. Alternatively, Mood: put-upon, bored.
  • Jain Zar and Asurmen, masks off, conversing and smiling while seated at a park. Mood: Jovial, comfortable.
  • Jain Zar and Asurmen testing their blades against each other in a practice spar. Mood: Friendly, competitive.
  • Jain Zar, in full armor, confronting the Avatar of Khaine, staring at him as he glowers at her in his Khaine-y way. Mood: Tense, angry.

Request 2: Warhammer 40k - Art : Puretide, Farsight, Puretide & Farsight

Puretide's fate is sad, and I'd like to focus on some happy times with him and Farsight! Perhaps some times when they were training together, or Puretide teaching Farsight something, or just Farsight thinking back on him. I am highly sympathetic to these guys. Death to the Ethereal Caste! Here are a few prompts to get you started.
  • This scene from Blades of Damocles, as Farsight destructively brain-scans Puretide: ‘Do not trust them all, my child,’ whispered Puretide. ‘Do not trust them all.’ - Mood: Angsty
  • Puretide lecturing gesturing to a blackboard, explaining a military concept to a young Farsight. Mood: Light-hearted.
  • Puretide meditating at the top of a mountain on Dal’yth, alone and at peace, enjoying his retirement. Mood: Meditative
  • Farsight, leaning over a counter or table and reviewing an important military document. Mood: Pensive

Request 3: Warhammer 40k - Fic: Jain Zar & Khaine, Jain Zar

I'm interested in the relationship between these Jain Zar & Khaine, as well as in Jain Zar in general! The Phoenix Lords embody aspects of Khaine, of course, moreso than even Aspect Warriors do. An Aspect Warrior can take off the mask and return to normal life. An Exarch can no longer take off the mask, and is trapped on the path. The Phoenix Lords are warriors in this life and the next. What kind of adventures and challenges does Jain Zar face? Here are a few optional prompts for brief fics if you'd like something to inspire you.

  • Jain Zar has a debate about servitude, murder and war with an Avatar of Khaine, who seeks her submission while she defies him.
  • Jain Zar does battle to defend a craftworld, and sees the effect an Avatar of Khaine has on the Howling Banshees under her command.
  • Jain Zar travels the webway, hunting a treasure that may be crucial to the survival of the Aeldari race.
  • Jain Zar encounters a stranded Drukhari (or other) vessel in the webway, and responds to a call for help.

Request 4: Warhammer 40k - Fic OR Art: Ynnead & Khaine & Cegorach & Isha

Here are some fic and art prompts to have fun with, though if you offered this I'm sure you have some ideas.
Mood: Awe-inspiring, foreboding.
  •  Art: The four gods each poking at a board game board, moving pieces around. Isha just looks happy to be here. Mood: Pensive

Thanks for reading this!

Hopefully this gives you some ideas. I am sure I will like whatever you create. 40k is fun!

Thank you.

Dear Seasons of Drabbles Author,

Thanks for writing - I'm super pumped for this exchange! It'll be my first time taking part in a drabble exchange. I hope you’re excited as well! I’m FireBatVillain on Ao3 and Tumblr.

I haven't taken part in a drabble exchange before, so I'm not sure what a letter for it should look like. The stuff I’m including in this letter is optional, but I hope you consider them as you work. Whatever you make, I’ll appreciate it regardless, and I look forward to whatever comes. Prompts are just suggestions.

  • Kenshin and Saito meet during the revolution.

Request 2: 僕のヒーローアカデミア | Boku no Hero Academia | My Hero Academia - All Might

One of the most gripping things for me in the first 2.5 seasons of this show as All Might - I loved his arc. I found it very compelling to watch/read about a fading hero using the last dregs of his power and the myth of his invincibility to protect the world until the next generation could rise up to protect it on their own. We rarely get to see what's going on inside him, but the way he eventually learns to trust the next generation, and pass the torch to them, is just one aspect of this character I found gripping. I'd love to see anything focused on him.

Here are a few optional prompts if you're looking for inspiration:

  • A moment in the aftermath of the first time All Might defeated All For One, when he's in recovery or as he tries to be a hero again now that he's wounded.
  • All Might's thoughts on Togata Mirio as his successor - why it didn't happen, or perhaps in an AU where it did.
  • All Might, after the Kamino Arc, finds some time to be just himself and not a hero, pursuing additional hobbies, or finding a way to help more in an administrative role.
  • All Might's experience of teaching at UA during the first couple of seasons, and how being a teacher changes him and what the experience is like for him.

Request 3: A Song of Ice and Fire - Benjen Stark

Dear Author/Artist,

Thank you so much for writing or drawing for me!

This is a general-purpose, higher-detail list of likes and dislikes. This is focused on my likes in writing.

Dear Sakura Exchange Creator,

Thanks for writing - I’m really excited for this exchange. This is my second year participating in it, and it's a real treat.

Probably one of my favorite ideas in fiction is the idea of heroism in the face of hopelessness, and love even if things seem sad.

I've often enjoyed canon-compliant off-screen fics that explore things! Some of my favorite stories of all time fit into the category of "AU - Canon Divergence" and I would say I am a common fan of "what if things were different in X way" type AUs. I do not usually enjoy modern or mundane AUs that much, but I've liked a few.

I like fics that have a lot of frantic energy about them, or with a focus on change. I am a fan of fics that are about characters being ruthless in pursuit of an ideal, and giving something up or even becoming worse as a result, because of how much they value their goal.

I'm comfortable with and enjoy all levels of explicitness/maturity in fics and art.

Anyway - on to the important stuff!

Things I don’t like / DNWs:

In fics, my DNWs are mpreg, authorial monarchist apologia, vivid descriptions of needles, and extreme underage.

In art, my DNWS are mpreg, needles breaking skin, and extreme underage.

Regarding the monarchism thing: I’m okay with characters in a feudal or monarchist setting, and even protags who are monarchs, and even these characters triumphing as monarchs as long as the story itself isn’t apologia for monarchism. Requested Fandoms:

Request 1: Fate/Zero - Fic or Art - Relationships: Irisviel/Saber|Artoria, Diarmuid|Lancer/Saber|Artoria, Diarmuid|Lancer & Saber|Artoria

So, I love tragedy! But I also love sweet things. I know there are a lot of ways you can take these relationships because of how bittersweet, or sometimes just bitter, things go canonically for Saber. Here's something I said another time I nominated these:

"Well I'll be the first to say that I think Saber's characterization in F/Z could have been a little better. BUT. I do appreciate the tragic nature of it, and the moments she has with Lancer and with Irisviel, before that was taken away from her. I love both these ships, both for their beauty and their tragedy (which perhaps is a theme for me), and any story about them, canon compliant or not, would be wonderful. Irisviel and Saber had a bit of time to spend together in Japan before the war, time that they were truly happy. And although Saber and Lancer only met on the battlefield, whether as foes or as allies, you could really sense the chemistry between them."

Here are a few prompts that might give you some inspiration, but feel free to take this in any direction:

  • Lancer and Saber get to have the honorable fight they were hoping for, without Kiritsugu intervening with the self-geas scroll. The fight could go in a way that's bittersweet or more hopeful.
  • Saber somehow fulfills her oath to take the grail, and is able to truly become a heroic spirit. She reunites with Lancer in the Throne of Heroes after the events of HGW 4 or 5.
  • The war goes differently, and Lancer and Saber get to face down the horrible end of the 4th HGW side by side, maybe facing off against Lancer or Berserker together, or maybe going up against the cursed grail
  • Irisviel and Saber get another date! Fuyuki city is a big town and they go to some interesting places, like the not-yet-destroyed bridge or the totally innocent temple.
  • Somehow, it's after the war, and Irisviel and Saber are both around. Maybe reconstituted by cursed mud, or maybe things go wrong and Irisviel transforms back into her body and they're just waiting for the next war somehow. With each other!
  • A "pre-canon" type scene (or missing scene before Ep 2 would be a better way to put it) of them having a nice time together on the Einzbern estate before travelling to Japan.

Request 2: Rurouni Kenshin - Fic - Relationships: Himura Kenshin/Kamiya Kaoru, Himura Kenshin/Saitou Hajime, Himura Kenshin & Saitou Hajime

I first watched Rurouni Kenshin as a kid, 20 years ago. It was the Cartoon Network dub, with a lot of censorship, but I really liked it. I had a chance to rewatch a dubbed, uncensored version of it recently, and loved it. I've also seen Trust & Betrayal and found it very moving. I watched part of the sequel movie about Kenshin as an old guy but I didn't like that. So basically, I'm familiar with Tokyo Arc, Kyoto Arc, and Trust & Betrayal. I'm somewhat familiar with, but didn't like, Reflections.

On the rewatch, I really enjoyed this series, both because the subbed non-censored version is a bit more serious than the Cartoon Network version, and because I have a much better understanding of what the Meiji Era was than I did 20 years ago. The era of nobles and samurai and peasantry was ending, and a new era, of a possibly democratic nation-state, was struggling to be born. Kenshin being haunted by the ghosts of his past, but also being asked to come out of retirement for One Last Job, to try to protect the fragile, possibly corrupt Meiji government, as it tries to break the back of the feudal system, etc. Very gripping! Not things that I realized had significance as a kid.

I've requested the relationships that I found this most gripping in the story. I love that Kaoru has a warrior's spirit (as we saw in that episode where she broke the stunning attack from the manslayer to save Kenshin from killing) but is also someone who is part of the new era that Kenshin fought for. I think their interactions, their tenderness, and the devotion Kaoru has for Kenshin are really sweet and powerful. As for Kenshin and Saitou, in some sense that relationship takes things in the other direction entirely. One of my favorite scenes is when Saitou is "testing" Kenshin, but they both get caught up in the fight and end up mentally back in the revolution, as imperialist and shinsengumi fighters going at each other. My fav toxic relationship tbh, big "I can make him worse" energy! I love to see it. Though, we also know Saitou has a more tender side in there somewhere, he jokes around a bit and he even (in canon at least) has a wife! So there are different ways you could take this.

Here are a few optional prompts to get the creative gears turning:

  • Kenshin and Kaoru have a quiet moment alone during or after the events of the Kyoto arc, and can finally talk about the things left unsaid when Kenshin left Tokyo, and act on their feelings.
  • Kenshin and Kaoru are in Tokyo, and she shows him a technique she has mastered, the final technique of the Kamiya Kasshin-ryū school. After a sparring match, they have an intimate moment.
  • Kenshin and Saitou discuss their reasons for supporting the Meiji government during a quiet moment, despite having left its service (Kenshin) or originally fighting for the Shogunate (Saitou).
  • Kenshin or Saitou think back on their days facing off each other during the revolution, and how different things are now that they're with each other - post Kyoto arc.

Request 3: Legend of the Galactic Heroes - Fic or Art - Relationships: Siegfried Kircheis/Reinhard von Lohengramm, Reinhard von Lohengramm & Yang Wenli, Reinhard von Lohengramm/Yang Wenli

I’ll admit to not having watched nuLOGH! I’m just here for those deleted scenes that you could imagine playing out as Reinhard von Lohengramm and Yang Wenli clash in terms of ideals and minds, or what might have been with Kricheris and Reinhardt. This could happen any time between when they first meet on the field of battle to the end (or beyond)., and for Kircheis and Reinhardt, I'm happy with something set before Kircheis' canonical death, or an AU where he survives.

  • After the battle at Amlitzer, Yang fails to withdraw, and is captured by imperial forces. In the following proceedings, he meets Admiral Reinhard.
  • As the Treaty of Barlat is formed, Emperor Reinhard succeeds in offering Yang a position in the Imperial government - as an admiral or in some other role.
  • The assassination attempt against Reinhard goes as it went canonically, but Kircheis isn't killed, just badly injured. The two of them have a chance to talk, and maybe, admit some feelings - perhaps with Kircheis waking up a few days later after things went basically as they did in canon.
  • A quiet moment between Kircheis and Reinhard before Kircheis deploys to fight in the Imperial Civil War. An admission of feelings, or something even more, a last chance for them before a risky separation that Kircheis may not return from.

Poor Yang Wenli, all he wanted was to retire with a pension in a comfortable and free society. And poor Kircheis, who wanted Reinhard to be good, and to conquer the galaxy.

Thanks for reading this!

Hopefully this gives you some ideas. I am sure I will like whatever you create.

Thank you.
